Prince Street was purchased by Keppel in 1972 to form a larger land for Ocean Building. Prince Street was named after John Prince Resident of Singapore in the 1820’s.

Early Queen Scholars.
In British Malaya, the first scholarships, originally known as the Higher Scholarships, subsequently renamed the Queen’s Scholarship were founded in 1885 by Sir Cecil Clementi Smith, the Governor of the Straits Settlements, in honour of Queen Victoria. The first recipients of the scholarship in 1886 were Charles Angus and James Aitken. Below is the autograph of James Aitken

Swan & Maclaren is generally accepted as one of the oldest architectural firms in Singapore. Started as Swan & Lermit in 1887, this document with the autograph of Archibald Alexandra Swan & James Wadell Boyd Maclaren for a sale of property in Telok Ayer district
